Say hi to the Kihei Grab Bag!
Earlier this year I went to the island of Maui.
Let's just say everything about it was fabulous!
From the wild chickens running all over the place
to
seeing humpback whales surface about 50 feet from my canoe
to
swimming with turtles
to
finding with great joy Hawaiian fabric
to
my dear friend allowing me to take over her dining room table for my
" home away from home design center".
It was fabulous I tell you.
And you know I designed and made a "couple" of things!!!!!!
Here is the "Kihei" Grab Bag!
I teamed up with my friends over at Bernina USA.....
and there is a complete tutorial on the Bernina USA blog called
"We All Sew"
And you get to see each step of this cool Kihei Bag to make for your own!
Scroll down for the link to the tutorial!
Just saying....... it is awesome as a cross-body bag too.
Fact: The wide strap fits nicely over your shoulder
.......it distributes the weight of the bag + contents very nicely!
I was inspired by this sweet bag below from Free People!!
But......I needed pockets!!
And this is what happened!!
So here is the fabric I bought at a store on Maui called "Fabric Mart"
It is always great to have a few contrast fabrics as seen here with the gingham!
These are all the pieces cut and ready to make a Kihei Grab Bag.
Here is the link for "We All Sew".
I hope that you enjoy making your own Kihei Grab Bag!!
Here is what it looks like on.....
I am in the midst of getting a new website up.
My newest Paradiso sewing patterns are in my Etsy Store, click Etsy to go to it!
All the rest of my patterns/pleather & hardware kits are here:
Enjoy...I am really loving using this bag right now!!
Thanks for stoping by!!
